The
community of Riverside South is nestled on the Rideau River,
just five minutes south of Hunt Club Road in the southern
part of the City of Ottawa (formerly known as Gloucester).
The community boasts a magnificent setting. The area's natural
assets include Mosquito Creek, beautiful ravines, lush woodlands,
and of course, proximity to the Rideau River and the new rapidly
expanding twenty-four acre active park. The entire community
is designed with respect for this natural landscape.
Riverside South is planned to be a self-sufficient "town"
satisfying residents' desire for recreation, shopping and
even business parks for employment. The area provides easy
access to many of Greater Ottawa's key features including
the downtown core and the McDonald-Cartier International Airport.
With 120 high-tech businesses already in the area, a new state-of-the-art
high-technology business development will also be located
just minutes north of the community and bus service is available
for the community residents. A convenient community plaza
is fully leased and now under construction, and a new elementary
school proposed to follow in the near future. The Rideauview
Community Centre is now open and located in the heart of Riverside
South.

A sales pavilion, decorated Townhome
and Single Family show homes are also open for viewing and
showcase Urbandale's innovative designs. Consumer demand and
market activity have been extremely strong and the community
is already swelling into a carefully thought out blend of
single family homes, townhomes and bungalows. This master-planned
community will eventually cover over 3,200 acres and be home
to 35,000 residents. Urbandale Corporation is the owner and
developer of over 1000 acres of the Riverside South community,
one of the largest residential developments ever undertaken
in the National Capital Region.
There is easy access via tranquil routes to the region's key
features including downtown Ottawa and the international airport.
