Notting
Gate is a safe, friendly and vibrant community in which to live,
work and play. This multi-faceted, bilingual Urbandale neighbourhood
is in the easternmost of the eleven municipalities that comprise
the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton, Canada's National
Capital. In Notting Gate, Urbandale is creating a quality
community which will stand out as one of the best locations to raise
a family in the Region.

Situated south of the Ottawa River, Notting Gate combines the best of both town
and country living. Historically an agricultural community, longtime area residents
will tell you it doesn't seem too long ago that the landscape was a patchwork of rich
farm fields and pasture land. During the 1980's, Urbandale was very active in
Orleans building hundreds of quality homes in the heart of the original Fallingbrook
community.  Residents have benefited from businesses that have flourished since
then, including " Place D' Orleans" shopping centre with over a 190 stores and services.
While old-fashioned agricultural fairs, tractor pulls, summertime hayrides and
seasonal festivals are still woven into the fabric of the area, the region is also rapidly
diversifying. Sports complexes featuring an international ice rink, wave pools
and new community centers have sprung up in this family-friendly region. Easy
access to neighbouring parks and public transportation provide a varied array of recreational
and lifestyle possibilities to residents. A brand new high school and the new
Portobello Shopping Plaza, complete with medical clinic, have already opened within
Notting Gate itself. With the rapid expansion of this community, another school
and community park are already slated to open in the near future.
As its surrounding rural area continues to thrive in its
traditional agricultural venues, Notting Gate is also ideally
located near large business centres such as the Taylor Creek,
Bilberry Creek, Cardinal Creek and the newly-opened Ottawa
River Business Parks. Ample shopping abounds with more
outlets planned as more and more discriminating home buyers
flock to this modern yet rural setting.
