Bridlewood is located in the western part of metropolitan Ottawa (formerly known as Kanata). Kanata is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada with an economy well above the national average.

Bridlewood will eventually become home to 27,000 residents. This well established, mature family oriented community received its first residents in 1977 and is now home to over 17,000 people.

Additional recreational facilities are located nearby in other areas of Kanata. The community is only minutes from the Corel Centre arena, home of the NHL Ottawa Senators.

Nature is an important Bridlewood asset. The community adjoins the National Capital Commission's 4,000 acre Stony Swamp Conservation Area. This four-season wooded retreat is interlaced with 38 km of walking trails and is a major attraction for residents and visitors alike. Abundant wildlife, rare plants and up to 166 different bird species are just a short stroll away for nature lovers to enjoy.

One of the area's greatest advantages is its proximity to Kanata's high technology employment areas. Many important technology companies such as Nortel, Alcatel, Mitel, Digital and Canadian Marconi are only a few minutes commute for Bridlewood residents. Bridlewood offers convenient access to downtown Ottawa and excellent public transit is available for all areas in the community.

There is still an outstanding selection of new homes and neighborhoods available in this scenic community. Urbandale Corporation is the major land owner and developer in Bridlewood. The company has been building homes in Bridlewood since 1985 and will continue well into the future.
